Company VisiComp designs and develops advanced tools for Java™ development and support, focused on providing visibility into the detailed internal operations of complex software systems. Visicomp offers the Vue™ product line, which consists of VisiVue,™ a runtime visualization tool, and RetroVue, a next generation debugger, being launched in July 2002. Java’s late binding characteristics and the fact that it is a strongly typed language are the design basis for this unique tool suite developed for the Java community.
Two key business factors set the stage for Visicomp to revolutionize the Java software development process. The first factor is the gap between the tools that are currently available to Java developers and the tools that they feel are necessary to create state of the art Java programs. This disparity is reflected in a recent survey by DevX which found that 83.3% of respondents surveyed felt that a quality debugging capability is of critical importance in a Java tool. In contrast, only 19.1% of respondents were satisfied with their existing debugging tools. VisiComp’s mission is to close the gap between the tools that are currently available to Java developers and the tools that they feel are necessary to create state of the art Java programs.
The second factor is the explosive growth of bandwidth, processing power and memory which are available at decelerating costs which has made the deployment of this type tool suite commercially viable.
	VisiComp was founded by Ronald Hughes in April 1999 with the mission to provide the Java development community with tools which allow them to focus on design rather than debugging. The VisiVue product was showcased in a keynote demonstration hosted by James Gosling at JavaOne 2001. The RetroVue product was announced at JavaOne 2002 and an enthusiastic group of beta testers, willing to pummel the product for two months, was qualified. The Company holds a patent on runtime object visualization technology. VisiComp is located in Felton, California.
