VISICOMP ANNOUNCES NEW VERSION OF JAVA SOFTWARE VISUALIZATION TOOL WITH SUPPORT FOR SERVLETS

San Jose (October 30, 2000) - VisiComp, Inc. today announced the release of their VisiComp® 1.5 Java™ software visualization tool. The new version supports runtime visualization of servlets. This runtime debugging tool allows the developer to observe the inner workings of any Java application, applet or servlet.

Support for Servlets

VisiComp 1.5, written entirely in Java, employs a sharp, easy-to-use graphical user interface, which features boxes and arrows to represent objects and reference variables. Each "object box" displays instance variables that are updated automatically as the program under observation modifies their values. This type of visualization is now available to developers of servlets.

Debugger Unlike Any Other
With VisiComp, developers are now able to progress beyond the capabilities of traditional debuggers. VisiComp allows them to observe and comprehend what their program is actually doing at runtime. The dynamic display of complete data structures allows developers to see otherwise elusive bugs quickly and easily.

In addition to debugging, VisiComp can be used to comprehend legacy code, providing developers with unique insight into code written by others. VisiComp can also be used to reveal potential memory leaks, verify correct functionality and demonstrate program integrity.
