The Vue™ products from VisiComp are built to maximize the use of three key components -- instrumentation, analysis, and presentation -- creating a unique debugging environment for Java™ developers.

Instrumentation: VisiComp has developed patented core technology which instruments the Java byte codes using a single proprietary approach. This engine provides the foundation for the other two elements. There is no requirement for a different implementation for each Java runtime environment.

Analysis: The developer is able to examine the detail of the execution of the instrumented application while it runs. The developer may run the program forward and backward, stopping to examine settings at any point of execution. VisiComp’s Vue product line identifies very difficult, often hard-to-analyze situations such as those involving thread interactions and null pointer exceptions. This feature is especially helpful for group collaboration because it provides an environment where individual developers with different specialization and experience levels can work together effectively to isolate and fix problems. The fact-based output enables developers to help team members find (and quickly fix) errors.

Presentation: VisiComp provides a visual presentation of the inner workings of the application, presenting execution, state, and thread interaction. Using the intuitive controls, the developer can step the state of the application forward or backward, search for particular conditions and relate the application state and/or dynamics of the threads to the source code.
